Sustainability in Action at Borgo Pignano

People and Planet

Borgo Pignano is part of an historic hamlet dating back to the 13th century and painstaking care was taken to preserve and celebrate its cultural sense of place — down to restoring ancient wall frescos discovered during renovations.

Revitalized villas, farmhouses, and maisonettes feature organic products from the estate's 750-acre working organic farm, where guests can learn about the property's commitment to environmental stewardship. Onsite sustainability initiatives include home-grown or locally sourced ingredients to reduce food miles, native beekeeping, harnessing solar energy and harvesting rainwater for irrigation, among others.
