The Ranch takes extensive measures to reduce its impact on the environment and conserve local resources. Room keys are made of biodegradable bamboo and the entire property uses reclaimed water for irrigation, including the sustainably-managed golf course, which is certified by the international Golf Environmental Organization, saving over 21 million gallons of water per year. The Ranch is the first in the USA to operate an innovative on-site glass-bottle crusher, which transforms recycled glass into sand for reuse across the property.
The property's celebrated restaurant, Harvest, was honored by the Surfrider Foundation as Laguna Beach's first Ocean Friendly Restaurant for its commitment to making sustainable seafood choices. The Ranch also works with the nonprofit Chefs to End Hunger to provide food to local community organizations.
