People and Planet

Everything about Turtle Inn reflects a passion for blending in with nature, from earth tone villas built from local materials including thatch, pine, and bamboo, to Mesoamerican traditional handmade tiles. In keeping with its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint, Turtle Inn uses vaulted roofs and ocean breezes for natural cooling, while an onsite organic garden supplies the kitchen.

As an active member of the local community of Placencia, Turtle Inn works with local artisanal fishermen in sourcing fresh seafood, while also supporting Fragments of Hope, SEA Belize, and other marine conservation organizations working to remove invasive species and regenerate coral, including at Turtle Inn's nearby private island, Coral Caye. The property has also partnered with Belize Wildlife Clinic, which offers free medical care to wildlife centers and The Inspircation Center in Belize City which caters to children with special needs.
