We are committed to positive and transformative impact. Here are some of the ways we do it at Carneros Resort and Spa.

  • Serving Good Food

    Carneros Resort and Spa’s three restaurants feature organic, seasonal ingredients from small regional farms (as well as the resort’s culinary garden), fresh eggs from resident chickens, craft beers, and – of course – stellar local varietals from its surrounding wine country. Additional Culinary Gardens are also being completed just inside the resort’s new Rammed Earth Wall at the new entrance. Bonus: All food waste is composted (green waste is used to fertilize resort garden plots and proteins are composted offsite). Even used cooking oils find a second life as biofuel.

  • Cutting Energy Consumption

    Individual, sustainably designed guest cottages feature responsibly sourced cedar siding, galvanized sheet metal roofs that repel heat, and operable windows to catch prevailing breezes and provide plenty of natural lighting. Staff shuttle around the property in electric vehicles to further reduce the resort’s carbon footprint.

  • Connecting with Community

    The resort proudly supports Napa Valley Community Foundation, whose outreach efforts include donating food and produce to areas devastated by local wildfires. The Resort also supports education and equity initiatives in the wine world, including its Diversity in Wine program, which highlights wines made from vintners and winemakers of color.

  • Greening Guest Amenities

    Guests also see the resort’s eco-ethos in thoughtfully curated in-room amenities such as boxed water and compostable coffee packs. Highly recommended: Taking a bike ride on one of its complimentary orange cruisers and kicking back on front-porch rocking chairs made from recycled milk cartons.

  • Saving Water

    Rainwater catchment and native, drought-tolerant plants all play a part in the resort’s efforts to conserve the region’s precious water supply. The Resort has its own wastewater treatment plant so they are able to reclaim the water used on property and the treated grey water is then used for irrigation of the landscaping throughout the property.
