We are committed to positive and transformative impact. Here are some of the ways we do it at Edgewood Tahoe Resort.

  • Water Restoration

    Each year, the resort removes 500,000 pounds of sediment from Lake Tahoe through its enhanced wetlands and ponds, helping to keep the lake’s pristine waters clear and allow for the passage and spawning of native fish within Edgewood Creek. Additional efforts include a fertilizer management plan to protect water sources surrounding the golf course and a membrane filtration system to treat stormwater runoff.

  • Conscious Construction

    Built to some of the highest environmental standards in the world, the resort is a LEED Silver-Certified building thanks to using locally sourced materials like granite throughout construction to reduce shipping carbon costs, and a lake-sourced cooling system that lowers summer energy use significantly. Finally, the resort removed several unsustainable structures, remediating the area by creating a neighborhood park on-site.

  • Active Transit

    In an effort to reduce the carbon footprint of associates and guests alike, the resort offers employee bike racks and locker rooms with showers to encourage them to bike and walk to work, improving their own health and helping the environment along the way. The resort is also set alongside pedestrian and bike-friendly paths that lead to local commercial areas, helping to reduce vehicular traffic and emissions.
