You must earn 25,000 points within a 12-month period to move from Insider to Explorer tier. When you have earned 50,000 points within a 12-month period, you will move up to the Elite tier.
You do not have to wait for your anniversary to be upgraded. You will move immediately to the next tier when you reach the next points level.
You can maintain your tier level by reaching the same or higher point levels during the 12-month period following your tier upgrade. If you do not maintain the qualifying number of points during this time, you will be downgraded to the next lower tier at the end of the 12-month period.

If you enroll during check-in at a participating property, you will receive Insider tier benefits for your stay - with the exception of points. Only reservations booked with an I Prefer Member number are eligible to earn points.
Every participating I Prefer hotel offers Elite/Explorer members a unique amenity during their stay. These can range from bottles of wine or local craft item to resort credits.

Prior to your arrival, please notify the hotel of your estimated time of arrival. You may arrange your late check-out with the front desk staff during your stay.
Email your membership cancellation request to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following details: your full name, member number, the email address used on the account, and the reason for cancellation. Your member profile and any I Prefer Points balance will be deleted from our database upon membership cancellation. Please allow up to two business days to process this request.
In order to earn points and other I Prefer Member benefits, you must include your I Prefer Member number in your reservation and book your stay at a participating property via one of the following channels:
At most properties, you will earn 10 base points for every US$1 in reservation spend, excluding taxes and charges, on eligible stays. For example, if you spend US$100 per night for three nights, you will earn 3,000 points.
At select properties, you will earn 5 base points for every US$1 of eligible spend; see I Prefer Terms and Conditions for details.
Stays paid in non-US currency will be converted to US$ at an exchange rate determined at the discretion of Preferred Hotel Group.
If you made your reservation directly with Preferred Hotel Group (either through an associated website or call center), email your request to email@example.com and include your Member Number and reservation confirmation number, or call Member Services for assistance.
If you made your reservation directly with the hotel or via another channel, contact the hotel and ask them to include your Member Number in the reservation prior to arrival.
Some hotels may offer additional earning opportunities including spa, restaurant, gift shop, and resort charges, but this is at the discretion of the hotel and is not automatically included in Program points earning.

Yes. Points will expire after 24 months of membership inactivity. Activity is defined as an eligible stay or reward points redemption. You will forfeit your current balance when your points expire and you will be downgraded to the appropriate tier based on your new points balance.
Log in to your account at IPrefer.com. Your point balance and tier level will be visible on your Member dashboard. Your point balance and tier level will also be included in all emails you receive from I Prefer Hotel Rewards.
You can redeem points for cash-value Reward Certificates, which are accepted for payment against room charges at any participating I Prefer property. Some hotels may also accept I Prefer Reward Certificates for payment toward spa, restaurant, gift shop, and resort charges, but this is at the discretion of the hotel, and acceptance is not guaranteed.
During the booking process, you can select to redeem your points for Reward Nights at participating hotels. Simply log in to your member account and make your stay selection. If you have enough points, they will be redeemed instantly upon booking confirmation.
You can also bid to redeem points for experiences and products in limited-time I Prefer Auction events.
You will only earn points and receive membership benefits at hotels that are currently participating at the time of your stay, regardless of their participation status when you made your reservation.
Log in to your account at IPrefer.com and visit the "My Activity" page, then click the "Request Points" link at the bottom to request a point adjustment through I Prefer Member Services. You must include an electronic copy of your final hotel bill reflecting the charges for which you are claiming points. Point requests will not be accepted until a final bill has been attached.

Find a hotel you wish to book that is participating in I Prefer Reward Nights. Click on “Book Now” and select your dates. On the booking page, log in to your account by clicking “I Prefer Sign In” at the top right. Reward Night rooms are subject to availability at the time of reservation. Your available points balance will be displayed to confirm whether you have sufficient points to book the Reward Nights stay. If you have enough points and the room is available for your stay, click “Book Now” to proceed to checkout. You will be required to enter credit card details to guarantee the reservation. Upon confirmation, the total points for the free nights will be deducted automatically from your account.
The number of points required per night varies by participating property, length of stay, and possibly also by time of year.
You will need to book Reward Nights available to you based on your current points balance. If your Reward Nights do not cover the full length of your desired stay, select and book a cash rate for the remaining nights.
Room types available at participating properties are typically single or double-bed, standard rooms.
You may book a Reward Night for someone else as long as it is an additional room at the same property within the same dates as your own Reward Night stay.
No. The nights you booked with points are effectively pre-paid, other than resort taxes and/or additional fees that may apply.
Based on the property, the Reward Night points redemption may not include room tax/service charges, and extra-person charges, if any. Other charges, including incidentals and resort fees, may not be included in the award stay booking and will be your responsibility upon check-out.
No, you will not earn I Prefer points for any portion of a stay booked with Reward Nights.
As typical to any Member stay, the hotel will confirm the availability of a complimentary room upgrade, early check-in, and late check-out upon check-in. Other benefits, such as enhanced internet service and welcome amenities (based on tier level), will be delivered.
To make any changes, you will need to cancel your reservation and re-book.
Standard cancellation policies of the participating hotel will apply. If you do not cancel within the hotel’s permitted cancellation period, the hotel will charge the applicable cancellation fee to the credit card used to guarantee the booking and the I Prefer points redeemed for the stay will be re-deposited into your account. If you do not cancel your stay and are a no-show, the hotel will charge the applicable cancellation fee to your credit card and your points may not be re-deposited into your account.
Log in to your account at IPrefer.com and click on "Redeem Reward" in your Member dashboard to order Reward Certificates, provided your point balance qualifies for the redemption amount you select. Please note your Member profile must contain complete address information before you can complete a Reward Certificate order. Go to "My Profile" to update your address if prompted.

Your Reward Certificate will be delivered via email and will contain a unique, secure code. Simply print the Reward Certificate or present it on your smartphone at a participating hotel for verification and acceptance.

You can also show the Reward Certificate on your smartphone. To facilitate acceptance, it is suggested that you advise the hotel at the time of check-in if you plan to use a Reward Certificate during your stay.
Yes, you are welcome to gift an I Prefer Reward Certificate by simply forwarding the email containing your Reward Certificate to the recipient for presentation at a participating hotel.
If the Reward Certificate has not been used or canceled, click "Reward Certificate History" on your member dashboard at IPrefer.com, and click on the "Issued" link to reprint the Reward Certificate or generate a new order confirmation email.
No. I Prefer Reward Certificates are valid at the full value amount only.
Yes, the hotel will convert it at an exchange rate of their discretion and apply the converted amount to your outstanding charges.
No, a non-participating hotel is not required to accept an I Prefer Reward Certificate as payment.
